While we love seeing you in your Zoom squares, we miss seeing you in person!

Please join us for our first face-to-face event since September 2022 (and before that, February 2020!).

We'll meet at the foundation ruins of beautiful Rockwood Hall for a meet-and-greet, book swap, and optional walk/hike.

This is a free event, but we are asking you to register so we know how many folks to expect.

Here's a rough schedule:

10–11:30 a.m.: Meet-and-greet and book swap

  • Meet YTA board members as well as YTA members and friends. Connect with like-minded individuals and let board members know how the YTA can support you!
  • Bring the yoga and related books that no longer serve you and perhaps find some new ones. (Please be prepared to leave with any of your books that don't find new homes.)

11 a.m.–12:30 p.m.: Optional group walk or hike around the beautiful riverfront grounds. Full perimeter loop is approximately 2.5–3 miles with hills, but there are options for shorter lengths and fewer hills.

You are also free to take your own hike/walk whenever you are ready!

Rockwood Hall is part of the Rockefeller State Park Preserve; you can see the trails on this map.

Important Notes

  • There are no bathroom facilities at Rockwood Hall. There are bathrooms at nearby Phelps Hospital, but it is a bit of a walk in an emergency.
  • There is no fee to park at Rockwood Hall. If the park's main lot is full, you can park along the road or in the Phelps parking lot or garage.
  • Carpooling is recommended.
  • There is a small uphill to get to the meeting point.
  • Please bring what you will need to be in the outdoors: water, sunscreen, bug/tick spray, walking sticks.
  • Feel free to bring your morning coffee and a snack (for yourself or to share) for the meet-and-greet, and a blanket, picnic lunch, book, etc. if you'd like to spend more time at this picturesque spot.
  • This is a carry in/carry out park (no trash receptacles), so please plan accordingly.
